Week 2: Finding Supervisor

In this week, students are required to find a potential supervisor that will supervise students along the way their are completing FYP1 and FYP2 subjects.

I was meeting up with one of our lecturer which is Sir Shah Rizailli bin Mukhtar, lecturer of Medical Engineering Technology Section UniKL BMI. I decided to choose Sir Shah to be my SV and get approval from him.



Date: 14/02/2019

I went to meet Sir Shah to discuss about a few project that I can take as my final year project title.
There are a few project that Sir Shah explained:

1. Skin disease detector
2. Medical device hazard alarm detector

I were interested with the medical device project. The project is about how to detect the characteristic error of medical devices that consist of controller and driver. Medium to detecting the error is by using the sound alarm produce by the medical devices. This project also consist of internet of thing system (IoT). After the explanation and discussion, I decided to take this project.

Week 7: Further Research, Finding and Survey

Date: 18/03/2019 - 22/03/2019 Date: 19/03/2019 I have done a comparison between Bluetooth system and Wi-Fi.  Based on my project, I decided to use Wi-Fi as the medium of IoT communication because it has less limitation compared to Bluetooth. Here is the my finding: Specification Wi-Fi Bluetooth Frequency Up to 5GHz 2.4 GHz Bandwidth 11Mbps (High) 800 Kbps (Low) Range Wide range (Up to 95 meters) Limited ( From 5 to 30 meters) Industry used Mobile phone, computer, television, hospitality communication system, medical device Mobile phone, mouse, printer Bit-rate 600 Mbps 2.1 Mbps From the table, Wi-Fi is the most suitable system for this project because it has a very wide range compared to Bluetooth. Week 8: Survey and Finding

Date: 01/04/2019 - 05/04/2019 During this week, me and my team had done a survey regarding our project. The survey was conducted on 4th April 2019 @ 10.00am until 11.30am at Radibems Sdn Bhd UniKL BMI office. Radibems Sdn Bhd is one of the Biomedical Engineering Management Services Company that providing vital cost-effective solutions and reliability in the operations and maintenance  of high technology hospital equipment. 5 person had involved in this survey which all of them are Biomedical Engineer that assigned to do a troubleshooting on component level.
